As well as offering face-to-face appointments throughout the day, we offer our patients telephone appointments with their GP.
Telephone appointments can be booked on-line, through the NHS App or by contacting the Health Centre either by telephone or in person.
The telephone lines are at their busiest before 10.00am, so please call after this time if you wish to book a routine appointment.
Telephone appointments with the doctor can also be very useful for:
- Explanation of test results
- Advice concerning minor illness (please see our 'Minor Health Concerns' page).
- Advice concerning medication and changes to medication.
- Certification where surgery attendance is not required.
- Specialist referrals where surgery attendance is not required
Please note: telephone appointments cannot be made if you are abroad (please see below 'Medical care when away from home').
We aim to offer you a doctor's appointment or an appointment to see a health care professional at a mutually agreed time but if you wish to see a specific person, you may have to wait longer.
Urgent health problems will always be dealt with the same day, the GP will triage your symptoms and if appropriate, may ask you to come in to be seen on the same day or when the next routine appointment is available, however Odiham and Old Basing Health Centres do not operate a walk in service.
An evening doctor's surgery is held at Odiham on Wednesdays and some Fridays, please see "Clinic Times" tab under "Opening Hours"
Medical Care When Away from Home
You are entitled to be seen anywhere in the country as an NHS patient. You may need to register as a temporary patient at a local surgery, if you require urgent medical attention whilst away from home.
If you require medical attention or medication whilst abroad, you must seek help locally and claim back any fees associated with that, through your travel insurance.
UK residents can make appointments to be seen as NHS patients. Proof of identity will be required.
Overseas residents will be treated as private patients unless they have documentation and proof of identity to confirm entitlement to NHS services.
All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they feel one is required.
This chaperone may be a family member or friend. On occasion, you might prefer a member of our staff to be present. Your healthcare professional may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations
Patients with Special Needs
Odiham and Old Basing health Centres have suitable access for people with disabilities.
If any patient feels that they cannot access any of the Practice's services because of their disability, please discuss the matter with the Practice Manager so that we can resolve the difficulty.
